Sheebah Karungi has been recognised for her contribution to selling Uganda’s tradition after receiving the Outstanding Dignitaries Achievement Award for Outstanding Artistry and Cultural Influence.
The celebrated singer was offered with the award on August 5, 2026, by Ambassador Charles Ssentongo, the Chief of Protocol, on behalf of Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Harunah Kyeyune Kasolo. The recognition honours Sheebah’s position in projecting Uganda’s cultural id throughout Africa and the remainder of the world by way of her music, affect and achievements.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the award acknowledges the affect Sheebah has made in utilizing her platform to showcase Uganda on the continental and worldwide stage.
Her music and public affect have helped strengthen the nation’s cultural picture whereas reaching audiences past its borders.
In an announcement shared on X, the Ministry mentioned: “Ambassador Charles Ssentongo, the Chief of Protocol, on behalf of the @HonKyeyune the Ag. Minister of Foreign Affairs at the moment offered the @odaawards for Outstanding Artistry and Cultural Influence to @Ksheebah1, recognising her contribution to projecting Uganda’s cultural id throughout Africa and past. Culture stays a strategic pillar of Uganda’s overseas coverage, advancing people-to-people relations, financial diplomacy, tourism, commerce and funding whereas strengthening Africa’s shared heritage.”
